This Week
A very short week (just 3 days). For me, as the homeroom teacher, I felt like I hardly had any time with the class. Tuesday was spent in Secondary – where I hear the Science session was the highlight for most children. On Wednesday we rehearsed for the Summer Concert and on Thursday we attended the Secondary awards ceremony – congratulations to Reem and Yahya for winning the Maria Asher Grade 6 award (we will revisit this at the Graduation as not everyone attended this event today)… and then we had the actual Summer Concert. In between all that i only had a couple of hours to work with the class….
In that time we have been focusing on preparing some parts of the G6 Graduation event and some final parts wrapping up our last unit of inquiry. It has been tricky this week as so many students have not attended. Let’s hope next week the numbers improve, otherwise it is quite a damp squib to have just half of the class there at the end of the year.
Next Week
PLEASE can you ensure that your child attends on Sunday, as we will be practicing for the Graduation on the stage with lights, mics and movement etc. It will be very difficult for your child if they just turn up on the Monday. All the outfits for the ceremony have arrived and they look great, we need now just to really prepare well on the Sunday to make sure the event looks equally wonderful.
Please remember to be seated for the G6 Graduation by 8.10am on Monday 16th June in the Mazoon. The ceremony will start promptly at 8.15am. Thank you in advance for attending and for trying to make the event special for the students.
Updated End of Year time – School will now finish for students at 1pm on Wednesday 18th June.
Have a great weekend,
Matt
