We have played a lot this week and this has actually helped us develop our Maths and Language skills! Students often learn more and are very willing to work hard if they are having fun so we have been using Maths games, word problems and puzzles to improve our Maths. Working together continues to be an important social skill that we encourage at all times. Again, children often learn quickly from each other so doing activities together supports this.
Our story Unit continues as we use puppets to help us re-tell popular stories, made our own puppets and created some great settings to act as a backdrop to new stories that we are inventing and presenting.
We are also trying to read and listen to a variety of stories and poems to enrich our language and increase our understanding of a ‘great story’. Students were encouraged to select their favourite book and write about it. They did some very good observational drawings of covers to provide our hall with a super display whilst considering the effect of space, colour, lettering and illustration when designing their own covers.
We enjoyed having Parents in to visit us for a couple of lessons this week and thank those who came along as the children were excited about this! Add to this, several practices for our assembly and indeed, we have enjoyed another busy and productive week!
