It was an amazing start to the week for Grade 5 as they held their Celebration of Learning and shared their Photography Portfolios with a wide range of visitors on Sunday. A heartfelt thank you to all of the parents who were able to come along and support this!

Of course, the end of that unit means that we are entering our final Unit of Inquiry in Grade 5 under the transdisciplinary theme: How We Organise Ourselves. We will be exploring the Central Idea: The choices we make about growing and buying food can help or harm the environment. Please find the link to the unit overview: HERE Students started to engage with this unit by looking at a wide range of food packaging to see exactly where in the world they come from before being bought here in Oman. In literacy students began to explore opinion writing, and were also introduced to the concept of debate, both of which will be explored further in the coming weeks. In maths there was a fun ordering fractions relay before focusing on converting mixed numbers to improper fractions, and multiplying fractions by a whole number.
