Our after-school Ceramics Club is off to a fantastic start with eight enthusiastic students diving into the world of clay. The group has been divided into two smaller teams: one learning the foundational techniques of throwing on the wheel, and the other exploring the creative possibilities of bas relief sculpture. After four weeks, the groups will switch, giving every student the chance to experience both styles of ceramic art. For many, working on the pottery wheel is a brand-new and exciting challenge. The students are quickly discovering the patience, coordination, and creativity required to shape clay into unique forms. We look forward to seeing their final pieces at the end of the eight-week program!
