With all the many activities, lessons and movement at school, it is great to have some time to just sit and talk. We try to make this a special moment when students can ‘pair and share’. Often, we do this at the start of the week and children are encouraged to ask each other questions about their weekends. I am so pleased to see how this has developed from the beginning of the year when some children said very little and conversation was difficult… now, it is difficult to stop some pairs from chattering in English!

We learn a language primarily to communicate and as this is a Learner Profile focus for us during this Unit, we are having many moments to share, talk, communicate and tell news or stories. We try to sit with different friends and I try to change something each time. This week, we checked listening and memory skills too, as students had to explain to the rest of the class what their friend had done during the long weekend. They always enjoy a challenge and were counting how many ‘friend facts’ each could remember. Thank you, my class,  for always being willing to talk with each other- great communicators!
