This week, our 7th-grade music students have been exploring the expressive power of melody! They embarked on a creative composition task, crafting their own short melodies with the goal of conveying specific emotions through their musical choices. It has been fascinating to hear the diverse ways they have interpreted and translated feelings into sound.
Our 8th-grade music students are currently focused on honing their instrumental skills. They have been diligently practicing and demonstrating significant progress in their techniques. Their commitment to improving their playing is evident, and I am excited to see their continued development on their chosen instruments.
Meanwhile, our 10th-grade music students have been engaging in a thought-provoking exploration of protest music and its connections to other art forms. They have been analyzing how music intersects with visual arts, literature, and films to convey social and political messages. This interdisciplinary approach has fostered a deeper understanding of the role of music in society.
