Dear Secondary Parents,
As we enter this crucial time of year, many of our students in Grades 10, 11, and 12 are preparing for their IB examinations. These exams represent an important milestone in each student’s academic journey, allowing them to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and understanding they have developed over time. Whether they are completing MYP eAssessments, DP exams, or internal exams, this is a period that can bring both challenge and growth.
At ABIS, we are committed to supporting our students every step of the way. Our teachers have been working closely with them to provide review sessions, practice assessments, and individual guidance to ensure they feel confident and well-prepared. We also place a strong emphasis on student well-being during this time. Our advisors and pastoral team continue to encourage healthy routines, balanced schedules, and open conversations about stress and time management.
We know that success is not only measured by grades, but also by the resilience, effort, and commitment students show throughout the process. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and dedication our learners have demonstrated so far, and we have every confidence they will approach their exams with the same determination.
We encourage families to continue offering support at home—ensuring students have quiet study time, plenty of rest, and moments to recharge. Striking a healthy balance between focus and rest is key to maintaining both academic performance and personal well-being.
To all our exam-takers: we wish you every success in the days ahead. You’ve worked hard, and you are ready. We’re behind you all the way!
It has been a busy and rewarding time in the Secondary School. We were delighted to welcome so many of you to our recent Parent Teacher Conferences. Your active engagement and the meaningful conversations with subject teachers play a vital role in supporting student learning and growth.
Another highlight this month was our Diploma Programme Art Exhibition. Congratulations to Arzoo Sheikh (Grade 12) for her imaginative and thought-provoking work—her pieces truly showcased the depth of creativity and critical thinking that the DP encourages.
This week, we hosted a virtual meeting for Grade 6 Parents to highlight the support being given to our Grade 6 students in their transition to the Secondary School. We also provided information and answered questions about the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP). Thank you to those who joined us. For anyone who was unable to attend, the presentation has been shared with you.
On a personal note; I will be away from school next week due to surgery on my knee. If you have any questions or concerns during this period, please feel free to reach out to Mr Dominic, d.robeau@abisoman.com.
Reminder that school will be closed on Thursday 1st May due to Teacher Professional Development.
Have a lovely weekend
Kind regards
Andy Cooper
