Dear Secondary Families,
It has been a very positive week back in school after the half-term break, and it was lovely to see the students and teachers reconnecting with each other. I spent the break snowboarding in Georgia and was fortunate to have excellent snow and weather conditions.
Unfortunately, on Sunday evening I badly injured my knee playing tennis and am currently working from home with my leg in a splint. I need to remain in the splint for one month before an assessment can be made about whether I will need surgery. I have been working from home this week and available on email. I hope to return to school in the near future.
This week, we have been following our Ramadan timetable, which is significantly different from our regular schedule. Students have shown great organisation in responding to the changes. Ramadan is such a special time of the year, and I know that in our Arabic and Arabic Appreciation classes, students have been learning about this occasion. Next Wednesday evening, we look forward to our annual Iftar Supper. I hope to see as many of you there as possible to celebrate this special occasion together.
As you will see from the reminders below, we are approaching a busy few weeks ahead, particularly after the upcoming Eid holiday. While Eid dates are yet to be confirmed, please note that school will be closed on April 2nd and 3rd for staff professional development. After we return to school on April 6th, we will quickly be into the final round of ASA’s and Parent Teacher Conferences. Further details about all of these events will be shared nearer the time.
Have a lovely weekend.
Kind Regards
Andy Cooper
