Grade 1 continue to learn about how people work together to meet the needs of our community.
We have been very fortunate to have had several parent visitors and also our lovely school nurse who have given their time to help us understand many different types of work.
Teachers are very pleased to see how student inquiry skills are developing as many more children ask very appropriate and pertinent questions each new session. This highlights for us that students are understanding the Central Idea and are becoming more focussed on finding out relevant information.
Some examples of these great questions are:
How long did you learn to do your job?
Why did you choose this job? Do you like your work? What do like working?
How many hours do you work? When do you stop working?
Who do you work with? Who helps you do this job? How many people at your work?
Why you help other people? How your work helping the community?
Our own community looks a little empty but we are now ORGANISING the space around our services, shops and homes – it is very colourful and soon we will be publishing why everyone should join our community!
HAPPY RAMADAN and peaceful holiday!
