Dear Primary Families,
Thank you so much for your wonderful support of this week’s Book Fair, organised in partnership with DC Books! It was fantastic to see so many of you join us in encouraging a love of reading in our students. In particular I would like to thank and acknowledge Ms. Maryam and Ms. Juhaina for their efforts in organising the event.
Reading regularly offers tremendous benefits for children’s language development. When children engage with books, they not only build their vocabulary but also improve their comprehension, grammar, and overall communication skills. These are skills that will benefit them across subjects and will stay with them throughout their lives. Reading also strengthens critical thinking and imagination, helping children to connect ideas and express themselves more confidently.
We encourage you to talk with your child about the books they’re reading and to celebrate their interests. Whether they’re into mysteries, fantasy, or non-fiction, taking a few moments to discuss what they’re reading can deepen their understanding and make reading an even more enjoyable part of their day.
Thank you once again for supporting the Book Fair and for fostering a love of reading at home. Together, we’re helping our students become lifelong readers and learners!
Kindness Day
On Wednesday this week we celebrated Kindness Day and it was fabulous to see the lovely supportive, positive messages that our students shared with each other. Recognising kindness helps children understand the importance of empathy and creates a positive school environment where everyone feels valued and respected. By encouraging kindness, we’re helping our children grow into thoughtful, caring individuals who understand the impact of their actions on others—both in and out of school. Thank you to everyone who helped make this meaningful day possible!
National Day Assembly
On Monday we will celebrate National Day and we ask that students come to school wearing their traditional Omani clothes or clothes in the colours of Oman. In the morning students will take part in a whole school assembly to acknowledge and recognise this important day.
Best regards,
Matthew
