This Week in Our Classroom:
This week in our Grade 12 Math Applications and Interpretations classes, students delved into the fundamentals of derivatives. We explored the concept of rates of change and applied derivatives to real-world contexts, such as calculating velocity and optimizing areas. Students also worked on hands-on activities where they used graphical calculators to visualize the slope of tangents on different functions. These exercises allowed them to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications, solidifying their understanding of derivatives.
Looking Ahead:
Next week, we will build on our understanding of derivatives by studying higher-order derivatives and their applications in motion and economics. Students will also begin a mini-project where they will model real-life data using derivatives to analyze trends and make predictions.
