Writing Patterns and Stencils Practice
We continued to work on our writing patterns, and the children practiced holding stencils properly. This new skill will help them when they start using rulers in the future. We also began learning to write our names, focusing on forming each letter carefully.
Jolly Phonics: The Letter’ S’
This week, our phonics journey took us to the letter ‘S’! The students learned the sound of ‘S’ by singing the Jolly Phonics song and practicing writing the letter. We also had fun discovering different words that begin with ‘S,’ such as “snake,” “sun,” and “sip.” Seeing how quickly they recognize the sound in everyday words has been exciting!
Math Fun with Games
Math time was all about having fun while learning! We played various math games that helped us practice our counting and number recognition skills. The students really enjoyed engaging in friendly games while learning important math concepts.
Duck, Duck, Goose
We also had a blast playing the classic game Duck, Duck, Goose! This week focused on understanding and following the game’s rules. We practiced taking turns and making sure that everyone in the class had a chance to play. The children also learned how to walk in an anti-clockwise direction around the circle. This skill ties into helping them draw circles in the same direction when they practice writing—building fine motor skills while having fun!
All in all, it has been a week full of learning through play and discovery! We can’t wait to see what new things we’ll learn next week.
