Dear ABIS Community,
During week 2, middle school students (G7-10) continued to explore health-related concepts and physical activities. Some grade levels are testing their initial fitness levels while also learning each fitness component’s role in a particular activity or sport. Recognising our strengths and weaknesses can help us to set physical and health-related goals to develop and maintain personal fitness.
In grade 9, students are learning about different training methods, such as resistance training and cardio, and how to calculate their BMR (basal metabolic rate) and T.D.E.E (total daily energy expenditure). These concepts can help students deepen their understanding of health and wellbeing. In upcoming lessons, students will learn more about nutrition and mindfulness.
