It has been a fulfilling week to start the year. Together the new DP students discussed and determined a dual focus for their English language and literature course. We have decided to explore a course around the central themes of love and relationships and the abuse of power. We will be studying six literary texts throughout the two years. These texts will be:
| Persepolis | by Marjane Satrapi |
| Macbeth | by William Shakespeare |
| Night | by Elie Wiesel |
| Ethan Frome | by Edith Wharton |
And for our higher level students
| The Essential Neruda | by Pablo Neruda |
| The Lion and the Jewel | by Wole Soyinka |
It has been a positive start and we are looking forward to more excellence throughout the year.
