Well done to all students who sat their first Ministry of Education examinations this week. There was a lot of confidence and smiles after the exams, so fingers crossed for great results.

PLEASE SEND IN ANY DONATIONS FOR TAKAFUL NEXT WEEK! THE DEADLINE IS THURSDAY 6TH JUNE.

In language this week, students were challenged to role play the stakeholders in the banana industry. They had to deliver the scripts in a persuasive manner, using acting skills such as: voice tone, hand gestures, and eye contact with the audience. These are great skills to learn, especially for giving presentations. Some students found it easier than others. There were 2 different sets of scenarios that were played out in small groups. One was from a scenario without Fair Trade, the second was from a scenario that could happen if Fair Trade was implemented. Have a look at the VIDEOS HERE and see which of our students persuaded you most…

In maths this week, our final unit about fractions continued. Some students were looking at fractions of shapes and collections, then equivalent fractions, while other students explored equivalent fractions, then multi-step fraction word problems. In Unit of Inquiry our Cook Off teams continued with their preparations for The Great Grade 5 Cook Off, which will take place next Wednesday!

Wishing you all a restful weekend. Best wishes, Miss Rachel & Ms. Khadija
