Dear Families
Today you have received your child’s Semester 1 Report and an email giving instructions on how to access it. Teachers have provided you with grades at this point in the year, your child’s engagement in their learning and specific comments related to each subject. Every student has also provided a personal reflection about their learning so far and advisors have provided a summary. Please take time to read this report with your child. It provides valuable insights into strengths and areas needing improvement. Celebrating achievements boosts motivation, while early identification of struggles enables prompt intervention. Please feel free to reach out to any teachers if you have concerns or wish further clarification. It also offers a window into your child’s social and emotional development, supporting their overall well-being. Working in partnership with us creates a cohesive support system, ensuring that both home and school environments contribute positively to your child’s academic and personal growth.
Thank you to all parents who were able to attend our Grade 10 Personal Project Presentations on Wednesday evening. It was wonderful to see our students have the opportunity to share their work with students during the day and then parents in the evening. The personal project formally assesses students’ approaches to learning (ATL) skills for self-management, research, communication, critical and creative thinking, and collaboration. The project is made up of a process, a product and a reflective report. This will go towards their final mark for the eAssessment at the end of Grade 10 and will help to prepare them for the DP Programme.
Have a lovely weekend.
