We crammed a lot into a 4 day week! The most exciting was the introduction of our new Unit of Inquiry. For the next few weeks Grade 5 will be deep in Space Exploration. This week we kicked off by sharing what we already know about space and what we want to know about Space. This allowed everyone to choose their own inquiry question for the WonderWall.
There was an outdoor Scavenger Hunt as students raced to be the first to find out all the Space facts that had been placed around some of the play areas! Fact 14 may have been abducted by aliens, we never saw it again despite rewards being offered for the safe return of the fact card! It’s a good job Sahil knew the names of all 5 dwarf planets in our solar system!
In Maths we started with a online assessments were taking place this week, in Language reading assessments were happening as well as reading to find information about assigned planets, and in writing we started to explore opinion writing.
