Dear parents,

I am pleased to be able to share with you the events that occurred this week.

On Monday, November 13th, the school observed World Kindness Day. To commemorate this special occasion, the Secondary Student Council and the Primary Student Leadership Team orchestrated a heartwarming activity to encourage kindness within our community. Students, along with several staff members, took the time to write compliment cards expressing kind words for their friends, teachers, and those in their immediate surroundings. The event was a great success.

Also on Monday, the 13th of November (6:00 – 7:00 PM), our Diploma Music students showcased their musical talents. The event brought a great turnout from parents who came to witness the students’ performances. Heartfelt congratulations to the students and their dedicated teacher, Ms. Kirsten, for orchestrating a delightful evening.

On Tuesday, the 14th of November (8:00 – 9:30 AM), we hosted a Combined Secondary/Primary Coffee Morning. While we had the pleasure of welcoming several parents, we encourage more to join and connect with other parents and the Senior Leadership Team. The next Coffee Morning event will be on Tuesday December 12. Please do attend.

Today, Thursday 16th of November marked the Grades 3-6 Sharing Assembly. Primary students captivated the audience of staff, parents and students with songs, videos, drama, and speeches. Well done to all the students and teachers who contributed to the success of this enjoyable assembly.

On Sunday, the 19th of November, we will have the National Day ceremony for staff and students. Students are encouraged to wear the Omani national dress, Omani colors, or the school uniform. Wearing national dress will earn students one point for their House!

Join us on Monday and Tuesday, the 27th and 28th, between 4:30 and 9:00 PM, as we host the Inter-Schools Middle and High School Basketball tournament. Witness our middle and high school boys and girls teams play against ABQ Sohar International School, Future Science School, and The Indian School. The sports hall will have matches from 4:30 PM to 9:00 PM on both days: November 27th for Middle and High School Girls, and November 28th for Middle and High School Boys. We extend a warm invitation to the ABIS community to come out and cheer for our teams. Thanks to Mr Fernando and Ms Dorothy for organising this wonderful event!

As a reminder, next Wednesday and Thursday are public holidays, and the school will be closed. We will resume classes on Sunday, the 26th of November.

Wishing you all a great weekend ahead

Dominic Robeau
