The students loved the story of the Gingerbread man so much last week that I gave them a picture of the Gingerbread Man with some writing patterns to trace over and decorate. This week, we focussed on the letter K and the k sound. We also revised writing the s sound and looked at the differences between writing an s and the number five. The sight words that we learned this week are the he, she, hasWe combined them with numbers and names of body parts to make simple sentences to read. Ex. He has ten fingers. We also combined our sight words with some of our CVC words to make sentences.In math, we used unconventional measuring forms like measuring objects with blocks and introduced words and concepts like long, longer, longest, also short, shorter, and shortest. Last week, we built Mat Man as a class. This week, each child made their own Mat Man.
