Greetings Family and friends
There is nothing better than a 4-day work week except a 3-day weekend. Happy Birthday Prophet Mohammed! Week 6 in pictures.
What we did in Week 6
Math: Students were introduced to exist tickets and the idea of formative assessments. Formative assessments help both the teacher and student to know where they are. If a student clearly knows where they are, it is easier for them to plan where they need to go. Students also played games to further solidify their knowledge of place value.
Integrated Language and UOI: Continuing our inquiry into “Who We Are”, students listened to a beautiful picture book, named, “The Empty Pot”. Here they discussed character traits of the main character and matched behaviors and actions that support the feature. During this discussion, the framework and elements of a narrative were introduced. The idea of a story taking the shape of a mountain was also introduced to visually show the students the rise and fall of events. Students will use this knowledge to apply it to their next writing piece. Students also reviewed another video to do the same in a more independent manner.
Learner Profiles: Students created leaves to express their strengths and character traits they feel they possess.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend and make beautiful memories.
Cheers-
G4 Team
