Good afternoon Grade 2SB Parents,
We have had a fantastic week sharing who we are through our ‘Shoebox Autographies’. The students were so excited to share their decorated boxes and what they had included to show their identities. On Wednesday morning, we opened a ‘Museum of Shoeboxes’ to present our autobiographies to grade 2SA – all of the students were risk-takers and communicators when presenting their work. Grade 2SA were very curious and enjoyed learning about their peers. Please see the photos below.
We all loved listening to Pedro share his love of his car why it is a favourite item from his collection, and also listening to Maite share her well-loved unicorn headband and why it is important to her.
In maths, we have continued exploring patterns and have been practising lots of 100 square activities in order to become automatic in our knowing numbers less than or greater than, how the numbers are connected in a pattern and identifying missing numbers.
In literacy, we have been working independently on our reading and spelling using the ‘Nessy’ programme. The students are becoming more comfortable in using the iPads for accessing this programme, as well as, RAZ Kids and Epic for reading. Please encourage your child to read for at least 20 minutes everyday at home, using the RAZ Kids app. If you are having difficulty accessing this website, please let me know. All of the students were sent home with a parent letter and their own log-in code.
For our UOI: Who we are, along with sharing our ‘Shoebox Autobiographies, we have been practising using our portfolio app: Seesaw. Seesaw
The students have been competing activities related to our feelings, how we can name them and identify them so they can get what they need or help someone else get what they need. They have also uploaded their fable based on ‘The Boy Who Cried Wolf’. Please have a look at this valuable sharing tool as the students are very proud of their work and using this platform.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
