Hello Everyone,
Once again G4 has had a very successful week. We are spreading kindness like confetti and posting our work to Seesaw. For photos from this week, please see this ink
What We Did In Week 5
Math: Students have begun looking at large numbers by investigating their place values, various forms of expression, learning more about what “placeholder” means, and understanding our base 10 system has a magnitude of 10. Please see the Seesaw posts of your child and that of the class to see more about these.
Integrated Language & UOI: We completed two tuning in activities this week. Kiddos watched and analysed a video about the ripple effect of kindness as well as created a certificate for someone whom they admire and have an appreciation for.
Approaches to Learning Skills: This week, students are focusing on the skill of time management. It is a skill we have been attaching to the Seesaw projects your students have recently been posting. As always time is generously given for students to work and finish projects. Unfortunately with this lesson, consequences also come up. Also, as a part of self-management skill and our class culture, students are learning to develop perseverance.
Classroom Economy: Classroom jobs were rolled out this week. Students have been skimming through the job posters and trying to choose the ones they are interested in. We plan for students to keep their job for a semester, pursue and apply for another next semester. Job posters will be added to Seesaw next week. Stay tuned!
What You Can Do at Home: Speak with your child about time management (‘We cherish our learning time’) – the concept of responsibility and privilege being two sides of the same coin. Please discuss the frequently used words in the class this week and help your students practise using these.
If you have any questions about this or anything else school related, please do not hesitate to contact us via email at: a.norman@abisoman.com or s.raghuraman@abisoman.com or s.albalushi@abisoman.com
