Dear Families

Service as Action is a foundational element of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP). It seeks to develop caring members of the community who act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and their environment. We have been working closely with students to help them develop ideas that they are now planning to implement. Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is an important element of our Diploma Programme (DP). It enables students to enhance their personal and interpersonal development by learning through experience. It provides opportunities for self-determination and collaboration with others, fostering a sense of accomplishment and enjoyment from their work. At the same time, CAS is an important counterbalance to the academic pressures of the DP. Hopefully, students are engaged in conversations with you at home about how they are engaging with SA and CAS.

On Tuesday 26th September, we would like to invite parents to our first afternoon tea! We are aware that some parents are not able to attend our coffee mornings due to other commitments, and we are therefore trialling the idea of an informal get together with parents and team leaders from 5pm – 6pm. It is an opportunity to meet others from our community, discuss ideas and ask questions. This will be open to Primary and Secondary parents. We hope to see you there.

Have a lovely weekend.
