In the DP SL Music course, there are three main assessments that are submitted to the IB over the course of the two years; the External Assessment, the Presenting Performance recordings, and the Internal Assessment. Each of these major benchmarks account for 1/3 of their overall score for the course, and they exist in place of the final exams at the end of the Diploma Program. This week, the Music students are submitting their IA final copy with the opportunity finalize the audio recordings next week. I warned them at the beginning of the year: You will hate me in the moment but love me in the long run for asking you to accomplish this monumental task in the first year. But they have done it! Congratulations to the DP Music students on this accomplishment! (one down, two to go!)
