Learning must continue over summer. We’ve encouraged students to continue learning using a combination of their devices and notebooks. Taking into account conferences with parents, students’ dispositions, different approaches to learning, and learning expectations for sixth grade, here are some suggestions …

  • Math: Current Prodigy Math accounts will remain active until the start of the 2023-2024 school year. Just before school starts and class registers are finalized, current students will be archived. Accounts will remain active; however, it is the choice of next year’s teachers to use this platform.
  • Reading: Current epic! accounts will not reactivate until the start of the 2023-2024 school year. It is the choice of next year’s teachers to use this platform. Throughout summer break, subscriptions are available for a reasonable price so that students can continue accessing the platform.
  • Writing: Students will soon take home their notebooks that they have used and kept for this school year. Throughout summer, encourage your child(ren) to fill it up with ideas, thoughts, doodles, drawings, and so on. Working digitally works well too!
  • Numeracy + Literacy: Learning on electronic devices might not work for every family. Kumon has produced high quality resources for quite some time. It might work better to focus on reading, writing, or specific math skills rather than everything all at once.
