We are pleased to share that the Primary grade students have had a fantastic start to the week following the long Eid holiday. We want to update you on the Physical Education (PE) classes for grades 1-6. Currently, we are wrapping up our units with each grade level.

Grade 1 and 3 have been focusing on striking and fielding units designed to introduce students to the fundamental skills and strategies involved in various striking and fielding games. The students learned how to properly hold and swing a bat or racket, how to catch and throw a ball, and how to work as a team to score points. By the end of the unit, students have a solid foundation in the fundamental skills and strategies required to play striking and fielding games. They have had the opportunity to practice these skills in a variety of game situations, helping them to develop their confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.

Grade 2 and 4 have been participating in adventure challenges designed to introduce students to a variety of physical challenges that help to develop their physical fitness, problem-solving skills, and teamwork abilities. Throughout the unit, students were presented with a variety of challenges and activities, such as obstacle courses, scavenger hunts, and team-building exercises. They were encouraged to work together to find solutions to these challenges, using their critical thinking skills and creativity to come up with innovative solutions. By the end of the unit, students have developed a range of physical and mental skills that serve them well in all areas of their lives. They had the opportunity to challenge themselves, take risks, and work collaboratively with their peers, helping to develop their social and emotional intelligence.

Lastly, Grade 5 and 6 have been playing Mini Volleyball. The unit plan is designed to introduce students to the fundamental skills and strategies involved in the game of volleyball. Throughout the unit, students learned the proper techniques for serving, passing, setting, and hitting, as well as the rules and strategies of the game. By the end of the unit, students have a solid foundation in the fundamental skills and strategies required to play Mini Volleyball. They have had the opportunity to practice these skills in a variety of game situations, helping them to develop their confidence and enjoyment of physical activity. Overall, the Mini Volleyball unit is an exciting and engaging way to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship in Grade 5 and 6 students.
