A balanced PHE curriculum will offer a range of learning contexts to meet students’ different interests and needs. For example, at ABIS, our PHE curriculum aims to develop students’ locomotor skills and conceptual understanding of physical activity and sports.

Students will typically build their knowledge and understanding of health and fitness activities in the first term. During the second term, students will set physical goals, design training plans, and demonstrate performance in physical activities such as volleyball, basketball, athletics, and swimming. In term 3, students will continue to develop their knowledge and skills in physical activities such as football, tag rugby, baseball, and cricket. Finally, during the last term of the academic year, students will develop their creative thinking skills through gymnastics, dance, yoga, and parkour.
