Another great week!  Please read your student’s FMJ for the details, however I will share with you that students are doing a wonderful job at building a “thinking classroom”.  To begin this journey we have begun mixing up the way math is presented.  Instead of siting in our seats and rotely doing problems, kids are taking their work to the white boards.  Open-ended questions are posed and groups of three work together, using only one marker to come up with a possible answer.  When we are at the boards we are also practicing many of our ATL’s, such as our social skills and communication skills.  We have also been playing new card games to help us with our addition skills.  I’m sure your student would be overjoyed if you asked to play one of these games with them.

Next week is a short week!
