What a great week we had in Grade 5. We were looking at place value and multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 & 1,000 and running against the clock to see how well we knew our times tables, we were completing our own reports on a famous person we had chosen and we were working in teams to try to identify our Central Idea for our Who We Are Unit of Inquiry. Job roles and responsibilities are up and running as we work together as a team to keep our learning space welcoming, safe, and easily accessible to all so that it’s ready at all times for the amazing learning that will take place this year.

Parents, we need your help! For our new Unit of Inquiry we would love to be able to hear from any Community Leaders who would be willing to come in and talk to our students about how communities work together. CEO’s, Sheikhs, business owners, religious leaders, changemakers, activists, etc. We are open to any ideas and volunteers.

To help our students we would please like to request that all students have a small set of headphones that can be left in school to be used with their iPads. Please do not send in expensive sets, these can be used at home. We are also building a class library (separate from the fantastic ABIS Library) and would like to request any old books that you have to be sent in to be used in our Grade 5 Library.

We wish you all a restful weekend! G5 Teaching Team.
