I am Madame Perin, the MYP – DP French teacher.
Let me tell you what your child will be studying in French this year and how.
Here are the 8 units we will cover in Grade 8:
Unit 1 – My name is Lucille, and you?
Unit 2 – Do you like playing video games, Xavier?
Unit 3 – Léa, who do you look like?
Unit 4 – Loïc, what is your favorite sport?
Unit 5 – Imane, where do you live?
Unit 6 – Oscar, what is your favorite music?
Unit 7 – Alice, do you like travelling?
Unit 8 – Samuel, do you like animals?
Here are the resources we will use:
– Textbook and activity book
– Magazines, comic books and games
– Dictionaries
– Online resources
Here are the types of assessments they will do:
Formative assessments – Speaking activities in groups and with me, pop quizzes to assess the vocabulary and the verbs, reading and writing tasks.
Summative assessments – a project at the end of each unit, tests to assess the 4 criteria (Listening, reading, speaking and writing).
