It has been such a pleasure to be able to welcome all of our students back to school in my new role as the Secondary Team Leader. I would like to thank all of our parents, teachers, support staff and students for helping to make the first week back so successful. I have loved hearing about the adventures you have had! Their first day of student orientation gave them an opportunity to spend time with their advisors and members of their class, and also prepare them for the year ahead. For the remainder of this week, they have been actively engaged in all of their lessons. Please take the time to read the teacher’s posts for more details.
Please mark your calendars for next Wednesday, September 7 from 5pm-6:30pm. This is when we will host the ABIS Parent Information Evening, where you are invited to visit the school and the learning areas, as well as meet all the teachers working with your child(ren) this academic year. You will have an opportunity to receive information about our curriculum and our MYP and DP programmes. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have. We will be running two MYP presentations with the same content at 5.10- 5.40pm and 5.45 – 6.15pm. The DP presentation will be at 5.45-6.15pm. This will allow parents with students in both programmes to attend both presentations.
You will soon be receiving some information about our After School Activity program, which is scheduled to begin the week of September 18th. In the meantime, if you are interested in hosting an ASA, supporting our students or sharing a special skill or interest, please contact me: Andy Cooper : a.cooper@abisoman.com in order to talk about what might work. We are happy to have parents back on campus this year and we invite you to be involved in all aspects of learning at ABIS.
