We are your Grade 5 teaching team: Mr Wetzel, Miss Rachel & Ms. Khadija and we are excited for you to come back to school and into your brand new Grade 5 learning area in LC2! We have been busy planning your new space and lots of exciting activities to help us build community together by deciding how our learning community will work this year.
Mr Wetzel: It is my first year at ABIS. I’m so excited to co-create learning experiences this year with my supportive and friendly colleagues: Miss Rachel and Ms. Khadija. Additionally, I’m fascinated by the desert and cannot wait to begin exploring all of the outdoor adventures that Oman offers.
Miss Rachel: It is my third year at ABIS. I am from Scotland in the UK and have taught in Scotland, Azerbaijan and Indonesia. I love living in Sohar and exploring Oman. It is such a beautiful country. I am very excited because my Mum and sister will be coming to visit me in Oman in December and I hope they get to meet you too.
Ms. Khadija: I have been at ABIS for 14 years and I am a mum of 3 naughty (but lovely) boys. I am looking forward to working with you again after some of you were with me in Grade 2.
IMPORTANT: Students will need to have a refillable water bottle and a hat for when we are outdoors.
Get your school materials ready, enjoy your weekend and PLEASE COME STRAIGHT TO MAZOON on Sunday morning for a welcome back assembly. We will be there waiting for you. You can put your bags outside our classroom in LC2 first, behind the chess board. Please help any new students you see.
