DP English have finished up the year with the classic 1999 film, The Truman Show. We have explored this film in relation to ideas of media and supervision and manipulation. We examined how we have sacrificed much of our privacy to the convenience of entertainment. Additionally, we have considered the pervasiveness of media and advertising in our lives, as well as looking at the way life can feel completely focused around ‘me.’
It has been a fun and enlightening exploration that has had us all questioning and thinking about our own choices with relation to media use.
