Dear Families,

I cannot believe I am writing this message to you with only 4 days left of school for this academic year.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the support you have given your children and the school during the past year.  When we work as a team, everyone wins, and the ABIS community is an excellent example of that.  I wish those families moving on the very best of luck in your new adventures, and I look forward to seeing everyone else on August 28th, after the summer break.

This week has been very exciting with students running mini-souqs,  G7 students teaching G6 students about what to expect in MYP, Storytelling Showcases, a music concert,… the list goes on!  Students and teachers are wrapping up the learning for the year and making memories in the process.  Next week is still an important week, with report cards going home on Monday, June 20 and the final day of school on Wednesday, June 22.  Students will go home at 1pm on the final day.

Our swim program has been very successful this year, with the addition of the Nautilus coaches to support weekly lessons.  Next week, students will enjoy some free time in the pool, which they are all looking forward to very much.  The coaches, teachers and CAs will remain present during this fun activity to ensure the safety of all students.

Primary classes are celebrating the end of the school year during the last 2 days of school next week in a variety of different, fun ways.  Many celebrations will involve food of course!  Please try to remember to send food that is easily and safely shared amongst a group of children.  For example, cupcakes are much better than a cake.  You will have received information from the homeroom teachers about what celebrations are planned for your child’s classes.

Please, as always, let the teachers or me know if you have any questions about learning at ABIS.

Let’s enjoy these final days together before the summer break.  Maeve
