The penultimate week in Grade 5 has been exhausting!
It was fantastic to see so many families in Mazoon to support Grade 5 in their very first live instrumental performances as part of the ABIS Music Concert. They were so confident and did so well.In Unit we have been learning all about the threats and solutions to both ecosystems and endangered species. We learned about causes such as hunting, overfishing, pet and plant trade, habitat loss and invasive species amongst others. We also had a variety of STEAM art activities related to our living things which will be shared on our websites.
In Maths we were exploring databases as we tried to solve a variety of crimes using the database filter system (we also needed to use our language skills too to work out the clues!). We had so much fun with this activity and even managed to create some crimes of our own to be solved.
In Language we created a haiku poem about our living thing. A haiku is a specific type of Japanese poem which has 17 syllables divided into three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables. We also designed Instagram style poems and these were also added to our website.
Wishing you a great weekend.
