Hello everyone,
We ended last week by being treated to hearing parody stories written by G5 students. and have continued with another busy week in G5.
We have been continuing our Language and Unit inquiry by researching about life cycles of animals and the different biomes in which they live. We uploaded all our research onto the websites we are creating.
In Mathematics we have been exploring the connection between fractions, decimals and percentages and working out how to apply different strategies to solve problems.
In S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics) projects we have been learning a lot about website design: how to create different pages and subpages; how to insert text, images, videos and links to our google suite work; how to consider the audience with font size, layout and colour choices and how to create image carousels and use buttons. We were inspired by the work of the artist Alexander Calder, who made 3D landscape models out of paper. We decided to create our own 3D paper biomes of the landscapes connected to the living things we are studying.
Sadly we said goodbye to Kaltham as she left to start her exciting new move in Germany. She will be missed.
Next week we are excited to share our musical skills at our concert Monday 13th.
Have a great weekend
