What a week! Exams for our Arabic speakers, AbdulMuhsen v Ms Deb in a chess challenge, and lots of fun learning in between!
In Unit we have been learning all about the human actions that have had devastating impacts on some of the world’s ecosystems, but also about the very positive actions that are being taken by people all around the world to help put a stop to this, create awareness and try to reverse some of these impacts. We also learned about the interconnectedness of all living things within an ecosystem and created our own giant food web to show what would happen if any of these living things disappeared. We then used that knowledge to create a food web for our own chosen living thing to add to our websites.
In Maths we learned all about equivalent fractions and fractions of numbers and created our own visual representations using a program called Mathigon.
In Language we experienced a poetry carousel as we wrote poems about what we think The Tree Says…, autobiographical poems about Mother Earth and Gratitude poems thanking the Earth and the Trees. These poems will also be published and added to our own Ecosystem websites.
Hope to see many of you at our ABIS Family Gathering this evening.
