Hello everyone,
This week has packed with exciting events. We started the week unpacking the impact animals and humans have on different biomes. We looked at wolves being reintroduced to a national park and the work people are doing to protect trees. We all enjoyed learning how to build our own websites, which we will use to showcase all our learning from our final Unit of inquiry.
We were lucky enough to be invited to the G6 PYP Exhibition and had the chance to visit many different student presentations about issues connected to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It was wonderful inspiration for us as we will soon be G6 and organising our own exhibitions.
In Mathematics we have been exploring fractions – using fraction clues to solve a treasure hunt and making our own fraction strip to measure items using equivalent fractions. In Language we have been looking at performance poetry and performed a version of The Lorax set to a modern beat. In Art we were inspired by the vital role trees play to create a Zentangle collaborative art piece.
We have so enjoyed the lifting of the ban on wearing masks – it has been the first time we can all see everyone’s faces so we are seeing lots of smiling faces and of course if students still want to wear a mask we are supporting that too.
