Not all energy is good energy, as Grade 4 is discovering. The most common fuels used to make electricity are fossil fuels and these are harmful to the environment. This week we learnt about renewable energy sources and we made windmills. Windmills are used in wind farms to generate electricity. The wind spins the turbine so a magnet turns inside a coil of wire. As all of Grade 4KL know… any time a magnet spins inside a coil of wire you make electricity. How you spin the magnet makes the difference between renewable and non renewable energy.
