Dear Families,

Today you should have received your child’s Term 3 Progress Report.  This document is a summary of your child’s learning and achievements to date and goals for the rest of the school year.  Please read through it carefully, and talk about learning with your child. It is an excellent opportunity for your child to explain strengths and articulate areas of growth with you.  And, as always, contact your child’s teacher(s) if you would like more information about progress and how to support learning.

This week we had a visit from Ms. Aisha, the Primary Math and Science Supervisor from the Ministry of Education.  She visited grades 1 through 4 and was very impressed with what she saw happening in each classroom.  Students were engaged in a range of transdisciplinary learning and were able to clearly explain what they were doing when Ms. Aisah interacted with them. I was very proud of our students and of our teachers!  There are wonderful things happening across ABIS each and every day.

As I mentioned last week, we continue to monitor the temperature and the well being of our students, especially during lunch.  All Primary students spend the first half of lunch indoors, either resting or eating.  During the second half they choose prayer time, outdoor play or quiet time inside.

Next week you can expect to receive an overview of our After School Activities, which will begin after the May break. A newsflash will be sent with the opportunity to sign up for indoor activities from 3:10-4pm on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays.  Plans are also in the works for some Primary assemblies.  You will receive a “save the date” invitation soon.  It’s been lovely to see more and more parents on campus dropping off and picking up your children each day.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.  Maeve
