Dear Families,

Ramadan Mubarak to all families who participate in this special time of year.

As you are aware, ABIS classes finish at 2pm for the month of Ramadan. The same timetable is being followed with each class being just a bit shorter. Our lunch is also shorter, and both fasting and non-fasting students spend the first half of lunch inside, followed by a choice to play outside, pray or read and rest. With the hot weather returning, this is a good transition for our students before we have to move to indoor activities for the duration of lunch times. We anticipate that will happen by the end of Ramadan and will continue to monitor the students and the temperatures.

We are maintaining our mask policy indoors. When outdoors, students may remove their masks and are allowed to play in any area that they choose. They are enjoying this freedom very much! It is wonderful to have small pieces of the old normal returning, like having parents coming onto campus at the start and end of each day.  Stay tuned for some Primary assemblies coming in May!  We will have grade clusters hosting them prior to the end of the year and parents will be invited to attend.

Please remember that, as per our school calendar, May 1-5 are not school days.  When we return from that break, we will resume After School Activities (indoor due to the hot weather).  During the coming weeks you will receive more information about the ASA choices and how to sign up.

Teachers are working now to prepare the Term 3 Progress Reports.  These will be sent home next week.  These are a summary of how your child is progressing as we head into the final part of our school year.  As always, you can contact your child’s teacher(s) at any time with questions or for suggestions about supporting learning from home. If you are ever unsure, the best thing you can do is READ at home with your child and encourage them to READ every day as well.

Have a great weekend!  Maeve
