Dear parents,
This has been a very successful week with the secondary students enjoying Oman Week. A number of excellent day trips were held and by all accounts the students and staff very much enjoyed themselves. Last night a large group of secondary students and parents attended the school for a time of fun activities and food with an excellent BBQ put on by Ms. Baier and the Student Council. Thank you to everyone who helped yesterday including parents who brought food.
It was wonderful to see so many of our students and parents at our first ever Virtual Swim Meet on Friday 18th March in our outstanding swimming facilities. Swimmers’ times have been uploaded and will now be compared to other swimmers from 12 different schools in Oman and further afield. The event was organised in conjunction with our swimming partner, Nautilus Swimming Club. It was also great to see our senior students volunteering to help on the day as part of their CAS for the IB Diploma. The event was a huge success!
This weekend there is the Sohar Food Festival at the Sohar Entertainment Centre which is just down the road from ABIS. We have a stand there representing ABIS in the company tent, drop in to say hello. The food and entertainment at the festival have been getting good reviews as well!
We are planning an “International Iftar” to bring families together once again. This Iftar event will have an international flavour with all members of the ABIS community invited to bring their distinctive national dishes to share with everyone. We invite you to participate in this event which will take place on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at 6 pm in the sports hall.
Next week is a holiday for everyone and students and staff return to school on Sunday, April 3. Please note that starting from Sunday, the Ramadan timetable will have students finishing school at 2 pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 1.00 pm on Thursday.
A reminder that from Sunday 3rd, parents can come on campus when dropping off or picking up their child.
