As a reflective exercise in grade 11, we divided into groups to explore what we had learned from the study of Nineteen Eighty-Four. The task was to identify the central concepts of the unit and to write a statement that represented that learning.

Both groups identified the ideas of control and application to real-life or modern society as essential learning, along side the idea of human behavior. The exercise showed a great understanding of the central ideas developed in the book and how they are relevant within our lives.
