Both grade levels are studying the role that elections play in the behavior of atoms in the world. The 11th graders are studying how and why they are able to move, giving off energy in the process. We are using our observations to develop an understanding of the weird quantum nature of the subatomic world. This will help them to make predictions about how different elements behave in different situations. Here are some pictures of some actual observations they were making as well as a bit of practical work we were doing to develop our understanding about the wave nature of electrons
