Dear parents,
We have just been officially informed by the Ministry of Education (MOE) that all schools, public and private, must be closed for the rest of the week in North and South Al Batinah, including no online classes. This is due to the number of schools unable to open in the region. Further, there is serious concern for internet access, electricity, and transport; issues which have also affected ABIS parents.
We have two objectives: following the MOE guidelines as officially provided, and our care and concern for the wellbeing of ABIS parents and students who have suffered due to the cyclone. ABIS parents have reported that roads are washed away and/or flooded, families have had to find alternative accommodations, and conditions are difficult. Our thoughts are with them all during this difficult time.
Teachers are available by email during normal working hours should you need to contact them, however, please do not ask for extra activities for your child as all students should be engaging in the same set class work as their peers.
ABIS will remain closed for the rest of the week and re-open on Sunday October 10. I will be sending out an update on Thursday October 7.
With best wishes to all,
Dominic Robeau
