Dear parents,

I am pleased to announce that the Ministry of Education has approved swimming lessons as part of our Physical Education curriculum for Grades 1-10. Swimming classes will commence on Sunday October 10. More details will be shared with parents next week.

Last Saturday there was a strong turnout of parents and children for the Alpha Football Academy open day. It was great to see so many involved, and I hope that parents will register their child/ren for training.

On Wednesday we invited several parents for a taste test of the caterers’ meals for our students. It was wonderful to have parents back on campus. Good suggestions were made to the caterer by parents, and we hope to see the catering eventuate soon.

We have been hosting school tours for parents after school and this has been well received. Should you wish to visit the school after 3pm, please contact Ms Eiman: e.alrisi@abisoman.com

Today all staff have engaged in a professional learning day. This is an excellent way for everyone to work together to develop their teaching and learning practices. We have an outstanding group of teachers, classroom assistants and teacher trainees this year, and I thank them all for their strong commitment to the school and students.

Next week I will be sending a survey to all parents on the manner and way in which we communicate via broadcaster, newsflash, and emails. The start of the year is a good opportunity to hear from all parents on what works and what could be improved upon in the schools’ communications. Please keep an eye out for the survey.

Enjoy your weekend!

Dominic Robeau
