Another great week of learning in Grade 5! As we look at our Unit of Who We Are, we looked closer at our community and the need to support each other. Students have been discussing the Learner Profile attributes of being principled and caring. All students created their own buckets, and at the end of the week, EVERY bucket had some compliment slips put inside by their classmates. They also created and hid Kindness Ninjas around the classroom to remind us all what we need to do to be kind to each other. During the week we have been focused on how to be kind and carrying out and spotting acts of kindness, which students then filled in on the 100 Acts of Kindness chart and by the end of the week, the chart had been completely filled in. Great work Grade 5, In a world where you can be anything, be kind!
We also started to explore numerous strategies to use for addition in Maths, looked at adverbs, sentence starts, onomatopoeias and retell in Language and explored the life of Martin Luther Kind Jr. in Unit.
We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday and hope you have a relaxing long weekend.
