Dear Families,

Welcome back to a brand new school year, filled with endless possibilities.  All of us here at ABIS are excited about creating new learning environments and building our community relationships over the year to come.

You have received some emails introducing to how our online start will work.  Teachers are introducing themselves in today’s Broadcaster posts and you will also receive an email Sunday morning outlining the week and providing links for learning. The distance learning website has been updated with the latest information and timetables for the new school year.  To access the website go to: https://abisoman.com/distance-learning/ and the password is parents

The most important thing you can do now to support your child(ren) with a successful start to learning is to ensure they are ready for Sunday morning. Make sure they have a comfortable, quiet place to join the Google Meet from, that they have water, snacks and food to last them through the school day, and that they have some basic materials such as pencils, crayons, paper or a notebook to get them through the first few days of learning online. Younger children will need some help learning how to interact as part of a group in a virtual meeting, and some students who were experts may have forgotten some basic online etiquette, such as turning off the mic when someone else is speaking.  Not to worry, our teachers are prepared and ready to help all students feel comfortable and successful in their new classroom environments. As always, contact your child’s teacher(s) or me if you have any questions about how to help with learning from home.

We are anticipating a return to face to face learning in early Autumn, and as soon as we receive permission from the MoE we are ready and excited to welcome students back to campus.  ABIS will continue to keep the community informed as soon as news is available.

We are looking forward to having the students back on Sunday, and to welcoming our many new students into our learning groups.  It’s going to be a wonderful year!
