This week has all been about balance and systems.
In UOI we have been looking at how ecosystems work and how if we change the balance if can make big changes. These impacts can be negative or positive. We have been looking at Oman’s nature – the whale sharks, the turtles and the Oryx, as well as the importance of all components of eco systems.
In Language we have been exploring how trees provide a vital role in the Earth’s systems and starting our poetry anthology around the theme of 1st person writing and ecosystems. We have been finding out what makes a great balanced presentation (not too much or too little of all the components) and showing off these skills in presentations on homophones (words that sound the same but are spelt differently). We have also been practising editing writing for spelling, punctuation, sense and quality.
In Mathematics we have been exploring how fractions can be compared to each other and what equivalence means before moving on to how they connect with percentages and decimals.
