This week the grade 11 physics students were throwing and catching raw eggs to physically learn about a physics concept without computation and equations.  The activity focussed on what they knew instinctively about throwing and catching because as the distance between them increased they had to throw with more force and stopping the egg without it breaking became more difficult.  They reflected that the lesson was fun and physically feeling the physics helped them understand the concept.  Of course physics does have equations and they can now use the information gained in the activity to deepen their understanding of the equations.  Physics can be fun!
